Finally. Just moved to a house where we are now using cable (we used DSL previously). This site seems a little bit faster. It took quite a while to get all the networking stuff back up and running but it looks like everything is ready to go. I’ve updated the schedule analyzer and predictor but not the StatMonitor client. Is anyone still interested in that app? I’ll update it if anyone is interested.
Some of you sent emails wondering when the stats were going to be back up and before I got a chance to answer those emails, they got wiped out. If you resend your questions/comments, I’ll answer this time.
Good luck with your fantasy seasons!

Okay actually, the server wasn’t down. But my internet connection was. You see, I host fantasyalgorithms.com from my house. The server is an old Cyrix-686 machine that I bought from Fry’s (http://www.outpost.com) a few years ago for $99. On a good day, it’s about as fast as my old Commodore 64. Here’s a picture:

Note the duct tape and the quarter taped to the other computer. The tape is there so that neither of my young sons can turn off or reset the computers while they’re running (the power and reset buttons are conveniently located on the front to enable easy access to toddlers).
But amazingly, the troubles weren’t with the server - apparently, someone with a phone number very similar to mine decided to cancel their AT&T DSL service. The well-meaning folks on the phone typed in my phone number for cancellation and after over a week, I finally have DSL again.
Sorry for those that had drafts and expected these pages to be available…
